Connect and EXPERIENCE THESE LANDS
Yes, you have a race to run. It will be incredible, a day to remember forever. But these lands offer an additional opportunity. A chance to go deeper, to come to know why these canyons and mountains are considered the birthplace of endurance running.
This week is about connection. Connection to the lands, the peoples and life perspectives that sometimes we need a reminder of.
The all-inclusive Camp UTMB Chihuahua is an educational, cultural, and movement journey with and through the heart of the Copper Canyons - the largest and deepest canyon system in North America. We will all share local cuisine, music, hikes, runs, traditional sports, temezcals, and spend many nights around the sacred fire. You will be introduced to many of our Raramuri friends who are not just legendary athletes, but kind, humble and inspiring people who will help you come to know these mountains and why they will call them home forever.
Camp week will entail 3 night in the heart of the Sierra Tarahumara - the Barranca de Urique - home to the legendary Ultra Marathon Caballo Blanco. We will be able to get some easy and shake out runs on the famous course while we prepare for the UTMB Weekend race and festivities. After Urique we will migrate to the majestic Barranca del Cobre, the location for which this area gets its name and the site of the UTMB races.
The 2026 Sierra Tarahumara Adventure Camp is a event organized by Copper Canyons Endurance Runs, Entre Amigos, and True Messages (a 501c3 nonprofit). Hosting and local coordination provided by Michael and Kimberly Miller in support of True Messages.

Event Accommodations
ENTRE AMIGOS
Entre Amigos is a magical oasis in the heart of the Sierra Tarahumara. Positioned deep in the Barranca de Urique, Entre (as it is known) has been home to adventurers and those who wander for over 30 years. Several private casitas, a “Big House” hostel style accommodations, 20 beautiful camping spots, abundant organic gardens, 18 varieties of fruiting trees, coffee trees, two kitchens, an on property loop trail and (we think) one of the most spectacular group fire / music venue in all of the Sierra, It’s rustic, but it is a perfect representation of all that makes the energy of these lands so vibrant.
MansioN TARAHUMARA
A legendary accommodation full of history for all who come to know this beautiful hotel. From the Hotel:…
We Welcome You to Our Little Bit of Heaven
A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents.

**AND SPECIAL GUESTS**
Camp Coordinators: Michael and Kimberly Miller
For 15 years Michael and Kimberly have been traveling to the Sierra and experiencing all the wonderment the lands have to offer. After the heartbreaking loss of Micah True (Caballo Blanco) they have helped with the race sponsorship, event support and athlete coordination for the Ultra Caballo Blanco (a true running pilgrimage event). They are founding members of ‘True Messages’ a nonprofit dedicated to carrying on Micah’s message of Korima. Michael also sat on the board for the nonprofit Norawas de Raramuri and they both have founded a company that is dedicated to supporting the inspiring peoples of the Sierra Tarahumara.
Camp Cultural Coordinator: Mario Munoz
He’s the one person that organizing this event could not do without. Mario grew up in the Sierra and has dedicated his life to introducing others to all the special aspects of the lands and people of the Copper Canyons. Mario is passionate about all the things that represent the magic of the Barrancas del Cobre and the Raramuri culture and the impact running has for the people and the lands.
Cultural Leaders and Special Guests: Arnulfo Quimare, Manual Luna, Miguel Lara
Known to the running world via their running successes, kind humble nature, and the bestselling Born to Run, Arnulfo and Manual have been running these lands since they first laced up Huaraches. Miguel took the baton bola from Arnulfo and Manuel and in addition to being a running legend is hugely passionate about keeping the running traditions in his community alive. All three are huge inspirations to all the runners of the Sierra young and old. The guys in addition to coordinating all local Raramuri athlete support, they will be around Camp demonstrating and supporting the Hosts and helping out everywhere
